Hi, I’m Jenn (yes, with 2 n’s) 👋 Oh! That’s me and my pup, Nala. (She sometimes makes guest appearances in my sessions.)

You are exactly where you are meant to be. I may not know what brought you here but what I do know is, you are courageous to make it this far. I hope by learning a bit about my journey in becoming a therapist, my training, and a little of who I am as a person, you’ll feel more at ease as you embark on your therapeutic process.

Here’s a secret:

Being a therapist was not my first career. I worked in accounting for years hoping to climb up the corporate ladder. I didn’t particularly enjoy staring at a screen and punching numbers. It was not exactly my… forte.

I revisited the idea of psychology by dipping my toes into Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and working as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) in Southern California. I went from sitting at the computer hours at a time crunching numbers to sitting on the floor, immersed in play, wondering where the time had gone. Little did I know, I’d finally found my purpose.

In my clinical training, my areas of focus became working with school aged children in the public and private school systems in LA and Orange County. Now, I especially enjoy working with young adults and adults by supporting their challenges of adulthood, as I feel personally connected to this time in life.

You are whole. You are valuable. Life can feel really full on the other side.

Being a first generation Vietnamese American woman, I lean into hearing how your early childhood and cultural experiences may have influenced your identity and relationship to your world today. I am passionate about being a psychotherapist and being given the opportunity to listen to peoples’ stories. I’ve learned (in my own work and as a therapist) that at the core of our being, we crave to have our most basic needs met: to be heard, seen, and understood.

Education

University of Nevada–Las Vegas — Master of Science, Couple and Family Therapy (2020–2022)
Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis — Bachelor of Arts, Psychology (2016–2020)

I was inspired to become a therapist to help bridge the gap in mental health care within minority communities. My goal is to create a safe, affirming space where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered, especially those whose voices have historically been overlooked.

I work with a wide range of clients, including adults, couples, families, children (ages 10+), LGBTQ+ individuals, and BIPOC communities. I have specialized training in Prepare & Enrich Premarital Counseling, and I especially enjoy supporting clients through relationship issues, anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, and communication difficulties.

My approach to therapy is open, compassionate, and direct. I draw from modalities like Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Experiential Therapy, always tailoring my style to best support your unique needs and goals.

Outside of the therapy room, I love spending time with my child and our playful puppy. You can often find me writing poetry, getting lost in a good book, or unwinding with yoga.

Wherever you are in your journey, I’m here to walk alongside you.

Education

Mount Saint Mary’s University–Los Angeles, CA — Master of Science, Counseling Psychology (05.2022)
Mount Saint Mary’s University–Los Angeles, CA — Bachelor of Science, Sociology with an Emphasis in Medical Sociology (05.2011)

Through my work, I’ve come to believe that fostering self-worth and prioritizing self-care aren’t luxuries—they’re essentials for building healthy, resilient individuals and family systems. My passion lies in being that extra hand, that steady support, and that guide on the path toward healing. I help individuals and families rediscover their strength and create a foundation rooted in empathy, connection, and understanding.

I work with adults, couples, students, and families, and have experience supporting clients through anxiety, relationship challenges, divorce, medical stressors, self-harm, life transitions, co-parenting, grief and loss, low self-esteem, and stress management. I’m especially passionate about working with adults, families, single parents, and co-parenting dynamics.

In my sessions, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Therapy, Structured Family Therapy, and Bowenian Family Therapy, tailoring my approach to fit the unique needs of each client.

Outside the therapy room, I share a special bond with my daughter—we’re always on the lookout for our next food adventure. From exploring new restaurants to crafting our own mini food tours, we find joy in trying new flavors and connecting over shared experiences. Our ultimate favorite? Milk tea with boba, every time.

Additional certification: Marriage & Family Therapy Enlaces Certificate (Mount St. Mary’s University) — courses taught bilingually, incorporating both English and Spanish to apply and practice professional psychological terminology.

Hello! I’m Monika.

Education

California State University of Stanislaus — Masters in Social Work (2013–2015)
California State University of Long Beach — Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (2013)

Therapy for me happened organically. I wanted to study social work because I loved helping people, and it felt like a natural fit. During undergrad and grad school, I was drawn to therapeutic roles and found myself providing counseling without even realizing it. By the time I graduated, becoming a mental health therapist felt like a natural next step. I didn’t plan it from the start, but I grew into it—and it turned out to be exactly where I was meant to be.

I primarily work with both children and adults, and I find deep fulfillment in both. Working with children feels especially intuitive, and through that work, I’ve naturally been drawn into supporting their families and, at times, couples. It makes sense to care for the broader system surrounding a child—healing and growth often ripple outward.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or navigating a major life change, you’re not alone—and therapy can help. Life can feel heavy at times—whether you’re facing a major transition, feeling stuck, or trying to manage overwhelming emotions. I strive to create a safe, inclusive space where you feel respected, supported, and gently challenged to grow.
